Hi. I am looking into updating a classic in the game of FLAT TOP. I majored in art in college. I want to use that to give my favorite game from my younger days a boost.

I can't think of a better starting place than Shokaku. Shokaku and Enterprise each had their playing pieces (counters) displayed on FLAT TOP's box.

I just need a scan of carrier Shokaku -- its drawing, waterline view, from any model kit like Fujimi or Tamiya. Either (or both) 1941 or 1943 version of the Japanese carrier will be just terrific. I need this scan to be a JPEG (and/or) TIFF image.

I am wanting to craft my own silhouette image of Shokaku. TIFF images are easier, but I have had great success in the past working with a JPEG image. The JPEG image is far more work, but its results can be outstanding.

I love both types of scans though. I am thinking (and have for the last 8 years) about getting Shokaku by Fujimi (1/700) in the updated model kit that looks terrific.

I built the old Fujimi Shokaku kit (1/700) about 30 years ago. The model is gone, and my instructions look so poorly over time---that the drawing from that old kit is just worn down and beat up to do the Shokaku vessel justice in this planned effort by myself

If someone can provide me with a high resolution scan of Shokaku ... I would just be utterly grateful.

Thanks
~ Rod

How high a resolution?

Hobby Search has a scan of the painting guide for Fujimi's 1/350: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10492276/60/2

700 kb will work for me, Timmy. Thanks so much for helping me.

The new Fujimi 1/350 kit has a line drawing, but I was actually looking for Fujimi's 1/700 kit. Their older kit was a nice drawing that was like a grey scale (black and white). If I could get a scan of it... That would do wonders! But I would love to see Fujimi's 1/700 scale kit instructions, as they will surely have a very nice line drawing of the waterline view for Shokaku from 1941.

Thanks for your help. Again, I would be grateful for any scan including Tamiya's Shokaku in 1/700.

Thanks,
~ Rod

They've released a lot of variants of the Shokaku kit lately, so it's worth, perhaps, trawling through all the entries and scans that Hobby Search has posted: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/search?typ1_ ... ku+1%2f700

Their latest 1/700 has this: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10462398/60/1

Here's the oldest one: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10034878/40/2
