Well, the question is asked.
I know that an European supplier, Navyplan, has a 40mm Quad set, and a 20mm single set... Any options beyond that ???

Great Little Ships offer extremely nice 20mm Oerlikons.

Airfix has a venerable 40mm Bofors, which is 1/76, but the difference isn't really noticeable. For its age it's a very good kit, it comes with a tractor and some quite acceptable crew figures, too (I particularly like the guy scanning the air with his binoculars). One of Steve's barrels will likely fit here. Another advantage here is obviously the price.

WEM makes a 40mm aimed at PT builders. It comes with a very nice PE set that will probably spruce up the Airfix 40mm as well.

Obviously, the Revell Flower Class comes with two 20mm Oerlikons, but these aren't that good.

The Airfix RAF Rescue Launch on the other hand comes with a really nice rendition of the 20mm Oerlikon. The bonus is that you can build two versions of the Launch out of the box, one with 20mm and one without. You might ask around modellers who have done the latter for the 20mm parts. Again, one of Steve's barrels will come in nicely here.

The Airfix Vosper MTB has a 20mm twin which is quite nice, as well as some useable crew figures.

Generally the Airfix boats are a good source for smaller fittings, weaponry and crew members in 1/72 - depending on your subject, of course...

Revell's Vosper MTB as also something that apparently should be a 20mm Oerlikon, but it's really rather a strange device.

Sirmar does have those weapons in 1/72, look at fittings, WWII or modern and set scale to 1/72. I myself have their 20mm, and they're good, made from resin and white metal.

They don't have any pics of the 40mm, but I think it are the post WWII versions.

The Airfix RAF Rescue Boat has one too. I picked up a pair of kits on ebay just for the guns. Their Vosper has a dual 20mm.

What about those white metal ones the Steve is using for his U.S.S. Rooks I think that company make them in 1/72. I am talking about the 40mm bofors.

I have the quad 40, the twin 40, the orlicons and a load or other things from JR Products and they are very good, these will fit my MOFFETT
