Depends on where your interests lie, but anything by Brian King can be recommended.

As Rick said the three Brian King books make good reading

the one building Victorian battkleships is available in the USA only via Pierpoint publishing

Alos reccomend two books by Georg Duerr

Schiffsmodelle meisterhaft gebaut

Schiifsmodelle tipps und tricks vom Profi

Both have text in german--but worth it for the pictures alone!!

Available from http://www.christian-schmidt.com/

good luck-have fun

How do you like the book you purchased.
Also, could anyone provide feedback on
Building Model Warships of the Iron and Steel Eras
by Peter Beisheim.
I've been looking at Amazon and Barnes and Nobels at modelling books and would also like a few suggestions for the library.

Scale Model Warships by Bowen is a pretty good little book. Usually get it through ABE Books for about $5 to $10. Mike Ashely's books are also good if your into plastic or resin. If you've got the big bucks, Kozo Isumi's book that was the basis of the Coker Book just went on EBay for $450. Very hard to get. For Plastic sailing ship books I still think the one by Les Wilkins is very helpful, but hard to find. For generally working with plastic, the Evergreen Plastics book is quite good. :wave_1:

Thanks Les, I may get the evergreen book as well since I no longer own any kits whatsoever unbuilt or built. I mostly use the books and articles for ideas and inspiration. I have a few good article reprints from scale ship modeler and Ipms journals as well, but would love to find others. I want to be the 1/350 John Youngerman or John Bange "if" I grow up, and have huge navies of any ship I want!

Wait till October, Dave Wooley's book will be available, but I think this will be mainly for large scale radio control models.

Got the book today. Very inspirational. Text is worthwhile and it is very heavy on photos. Definate must have for the library if anyones considered it
