why not!!!!!If anyone has pics of a large scale Goode Hope id like to see them. The closest thing Ive seen is a HMS Kent. which isnt really that close.I think a 1/96th HMS Good Hope either in Victorian or grey color scheme would look awesome sailing around a lake!Well, why dont I build one you say?First,I cant find any plans and secondly,Im not sure Ive got what it takes to completely scratchbuild her from the keel up.I usually start with a fiberglass hull, even if I have to modify it.The only thing I have to go by is photos and a Navis 1/1250 model, hardly enough to start building. Please, someone talented out there, build a BIG,R/C HMS Good Hope!!!Thanks and Happy modeling

Never admit defeat and say you could not build a hull from scratch. Anyone with modelling skills can build their own hull. I started on my first hull when I started on the Marlborough ( temporarly laid up until I have finished Victorious ).

There are enough tips and pictures on Scratchbuilding, showing you how to go about scratchbuilding a hull, by using the plank on frame method and then covering with fibre tissue and resin.

The Good Hope would make an excellent model, but unless one could obtain some suitable plans, it would not be feasable to attempt it.

Hope you find what you are looking for and if you are successful, have a go at scrathbuilding your hull. You do not know what you are capable of, until you have a go. Everyone has to start sometime, if they want a model that can't be bought as a kit or if a hull is not available.

Ooh, nice. Where did you get the drawings? The only ones I know of are the armor diagrams on worldwar1.co.uk.

I'm starting a U.S. contemporary of the Good Hope; The U.S.S. Cal;ifornia (ACR-6). I was able to buy plans of the ship, which will make my scratch-building a lot more accurate. The hull mounted guns used on these early armored cruisers is a big problem . I sank my TEXAS battleship due to them (since recovered). I am greatly enamored of these big ships in their white and buff color schemes. Sure wish I could come up with some way to make lots of black funnel smoke.
