I thought I would share a potentially different idea for using the existing Trumpeter Display Base Stand -
I got the Trumpeter ' Dry Dock ' Display Stand coverted to accept 2 Silver Ship Pedestals for the 1/350 HMS Repulse Model
- the Plastic Kit Display Stand was strengthened underneath with 2 Aluminium Supports to transfer the weight of the completed Model to the ground -
rather than the Kit display stand plastic - and 2 proper steel screws and washers to fix the Model to the stand
maybe of some interest ??

NOTE - Imgur used

These are the ones that I bought on Ebay , from the same seller , but there are others on ebay as well ( search 1/350 Pedestals Ship )

Note this method works - and you get a stunning Model

When I clicked your images to enlarge them I was redirected and it opened a spam window. No idea why this happened, but I really hope the two seconds the page was open before I closed it didn't adversely affect my computer :mad_1:

Your "Live Jasmine" is very distracting! I get it also whenever I go porn surfing :Oops_1: But seriously... your "pedestals" are actually turned brass bull neck lamp parts...

https://www.grandbrass.com/item/ne168/n ... ugh_necks/

I've bought these from this lamp store several times. They work good. If you paid more than what the lamp store charges, I'm afraid you got ripped-off! I've been tempted several times to buy a large amount of these type of fittings and resell as "model ship pedestals", but "nahhhh, someone's going to recognize them"!

@73 North...find another photo host! Any that advertise porn sites can't be trusted...you're computer is probably full of spy-ware, and other mal-ware. I would do an extensive file scan if I were you, and download a trusty anti-virus. Imgur is not difficult at all. I switched to them from Photo Bucket when they screwed everyone. Posting pics from Imgur is similar to Photo Bucket's method. And it's free!!

I have done as you said , apologies for the hassle caused ( I am delighted with the Pedestals ) - but the main thing that
I am really happy with is the underside metal supports as they lower the centre of gravity AND spread the weight more evenly

anyway - thanks for taking the time to comment (lesson learned - I have no commercial interest in that ebay seller !! )

Hi
I got Calum from Anderson and Wilson Engineers of Netherdale , Galashiels to do the work for me
https://www.engineerscout.org/company-a ... iels-20802
link to their details , if you want to contact him

I noticed these are the same parts - I used - https://www.grandbrass.com/item/ne168np/
I also did not pay a great deal for my Pedestals - on ebay , but thanks for the kind concern .
