Watch as I show you how I build and install these tiny, but essential (for an authentic look) pieces on my miniature model, Caracca model ship. This is very precise miniature work, the crow's nest itself is only a few mm's across, and we are adding tiny posts into it, to join together the top and bottom pieces. My process for making a basket-style crow's nest is fairly simple, starting with just two with a dowel rods, one the same diameter as the mast, and another smaller, a hand drill, tiny hand-saw, sand paper and glue.
