I'd say just be a little more patient, we will probably see a dedicated photo etch set for these new carriers within a couple months. As for tow tractors the best ones are from Black Dog. If you want a deck scrubber, fire trucks and forklifts, you'll need to get the Jag crane and tractor set for the LHDs.

Do you suppose someone might come out with A DISPLAY STAND???? :Mad_5:

That is too funny, and truth is stranger than fiction. Can anyone explain what happened there? I was going to get a wood base and engrave some Brass. Have you priced engraving Brass lately? Holy #%*@!!! Maybe one of you 3D Modeler dudes can print a stand for JFK and the Kitty Hawk.................

Mark,
I was planning on waterlining my Kitty Hawk(aka Constellation) anyway but my first thought was "Hey, now I can cast copies of those stands from the Lexington, Saratoga, and Admiral Kustnestov and make a fortune!" :heh:

Anyone knows were I can find hangar deck plans for CVA-64 and CVA-67? Thanks!

Hi red,

Here is where I got mine. I had them shrunk down to 1/350 scale at a blueprint store.

To carry on the post here is the completed hull with her new very proud owner

It's not something you see every day. It's Pete sitting inside his new hull from Tim (Southern Cross models), it will be the USS Constellation (Kitty Hawk Class) and oh is it massive… For reference, the hull next to it which looks rather small is a Ticonderoga (to become the USS Anzio) from APS.
In the box that it was all transported with, the Tico sat neatly under the Constellations sponson.

Both models will eventually grace the waters as part of the Task Force 72 Perth fleet.

You could say Pete is a happy man…… :) it is a very nice hull to say the least, excellent detail Tim.

Oh and Pete has literally just moved house and is unpacking so it cannot even get into his shed yet until he empties it of packing boxes..... :?

I wish I had something as exciting as that massive hull to share!

Here's the "shrine" out at the pole barn where my band practices. Our singer was on the Saratoga from '92 or 3 through '94 so I decided to build a model of the ship for him but I couldn't stop there, I had to build the air wing as well :heh:

1/720 Saratoga from Italeri
F-14A (trying to be a B model) from Hasegawa
F/A-18 from AMT
E-2C from Testors
A-6E from Italeri

the aircraft are 1/72 scale

squadron patches and shelf space provided by my singer, Todd

the decals/markings are mostly directly from the kits but I had to draw the squadron art on the tomcat's tails, bought a decal set for the intruder, and pieced together the markings for the E-2 from various spare decals, fortunately the hornet kit was all accurate for that period of time :woo_hoo:

Guess they have already made a photo etch set for the new Kitty Hawk. I hadn't seen one yet until I came across this. A little spendy though. They have a couple on ebay for about 300 bucks with shipping included. http://www.ka-models.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=679

Hi Guys

I have held off purchase of either 1/350 Kitty Hawk or John Kennedy as I have 10 kits still in the stash including the carriers USS Princeton, IJN Kaga & a pre-orded HMS Ark Royal. I have just seen the KA set for Kitty Hawk and its stunning. I am going to have to think before just diving in, as I want them all but have limited display cases. (and actual limited room)

The KA Kit has swung me away from the Kennedy to the Kitty Hawk. We are I think very lucky to have such variety.

Thanks & regards
