there are quite a few differant suppliers, i have tryed two in the u.s neither one where worth a dam thay are basicaly just drawings of v.v with half hearted attemps to make it roma .there is a company in italy that i have heard is pretty good http://www.anb-online.org/

Now that I have plans for Roma, I have another quick question. Does anybody other than Pacificfront in the US sell Regia Marina etch or resin detail parts (preferrably on the east coast)? Pacificfront is great, but the shipping from west to east kills me!

i am looking for paint colors for roma,both the camoflage and the colors as built,the antifouling paint is green,and the hull and upper works are grey,decks are a darker grey. but does anyone know the shades of green and gray,also does anyone know the numbers of testers,tamiya paints for these colors.thanks

According to Erminio Bagnasco and Maurizio Brescia's "La Mimetizzatione delle navi italiane 1940-1945" p.75-76 and 87, colours were as follows :

Grigio scuro : Tamiya xf63, Testor 1583
Grigio cenerino chiaro : Tamiya M13, Testor 1731


Unfortunately, they don't give any reference for the anti-fouling Green

Your green is too light. Please find below a picture of RM Zara model built by Stefano Salesi which will give you the correct green.

thanks jim and gilbert . i think this is the one it is darker and not as bright,it is tamiya ts43. i will try a bigger piece of scrape and then dull coat it hope it works.one on the right is new ,left is first color

Hhm... I believe that is my RN Zara not Stefano Salesi's one
IIRC, I used Lifecolor's "Regio Esercito" Green for the hull.

Pardon my ignorance as I'm out of the loop on this subject. Did Trumpeter or someone else release an injection molded 1/350 kit of this class?

well guys i have chased paint colors all over the place.i have picked a few colors that seem to match some pics, and not others.i will be going with paint scheme at the time of sinking.heres a couple of pics of paint combinations i think are close.actual color is a little differant than the pics.
i would appretiate some feedback on what you think.the pics are of two differant grays and two differant greens

does anybody make main battery 15" barrels for these in brass? My resin ones are all goner's

I had my 1/350 Roma guns done by Burkhardt in Germany

1/700 You can get the from Burkhartd or Regia Marine ( I think)

Ah so that's where you got them, I did not know that barrels could be custom ordered. My kit is the 1/700 Delphis Roma which will be backdated to trials. I've looked extensively at your build, it's both an inspiration and a guide to me. My major problem with the kit is that almost all of the barrels on both the primary and secondary armarment were broken on arrival. I was further annoyed when I bought a second Roma from Delphis and had the same results with their barrels. They have wonderful products but need to rethink their packing!

Si O guess he can re-size pretty easily!

Just drop him a line-- now that the $ has strengthened-- they appear better value....

Certainly the barrels are BEAUTIFULLY done.

i am wondering how the roma gets its shells to the aft magazine,there seems to be only one scuttle which is in front of the forward turrent. does she have a long corridor from front mag. to the aft mag.,or am i missing a scuttle at the aft turrant.

Ho visto il tuo modello e mi chiedeo se e navigante o statica.. sarebbe bello la realizzazione della vittorio veneto nella medesima scala che sto costruendo il mio modello navigante sono dal 2006 e intravedo da lontano la fine della mia opera ti stai domandando quale gigantesca impresa mi sono messo fare la Yamato e la sua lunghezza e di 3652mm, mi trovi sotto The main battleship Yamato 1/72 from italy .
Ti aspetto prossimo anno alla fiera di verona...
