Please note there is no Flyhawk set 35064 but 350064, and no 35021 but 350021, etc ... just to avoid confusion.

I'm not entirely sure of the entire contents of the packages.

FH38001 was released to support the original kit.

FH35021 may be an updated version

FH35064 is supposed to be used in conjunction with FH35021

At one point, Pontos had an extensive superset for Kongo 1944.

WEM has a more basic set for the class.

Could somebody tell me what makes the difference between two Fujimi 1/350 Haruna kits, 600017 and 600550 kit?

Check Hobby Search, as usual - just search for the item numbers and start comparing their instructions.

Don't know anything about Hobby Search, sorry.
More info, please.
Did Fujimi improve certain gun parts (or any other plastic parts) from Haruna 600017 kit when Haruna 600550 kit is introduced?
That kind of details certainly would not be visible on instructions, that's why I am asking here for info.

The Haruna 600017 kit represents her fit in June 1944 vs. the Haruna 600550 kit is in her October 1944 fit. The changes have more to do with additional AA guns and a Type 13 radar more than improved versions, as far as I can see.

Yes. (Some)AA are new molds. Plus new molded directors for AA 25mm guns plus some other details. Rest is as Dan said.

As I am going to use update sets (PE and turned metal barrels for main guns and all smaller guns and AA guns) for Haruna anyway, does it make a difference if I use 600017 or 600550 as a start kit?

Probably not. Improved 25mm AA directors are welcome, but that's not a make or break proposition.

Does anyone know whether using the Pontos Kongo 1944 set on the Haruna kit of Fujimi is possible without too much reworking?
cause I have a choice between purchasing Haruna 1/350 (600001) and Nagato 1/350 1941 (with the accompanying Pontos set).

I'd rather like to make the Haruna since I find that ship better looking than the Kongo, but what should I expect?

Hi,

were shields mounted on the twin and triple AA 25 mm guns?

Possibly. Late war AA additions typically had shields, so only and Haruna and Kongo would have received them. However, a postwar photo of Haruna as sunk shows a triple 25mm mounted high in her superstructure without a shield. Can't say if that was unusual or not.

Hello,
I am preparing to build Kajika's 1914 Kongo. The rigging is the problem. I can find only few photos, quality good enough to see clearly the whole cabling. The books or blueprints are focused on WW2 service period. Do you have any data or diagrams showing clearly the rigging of her or sister ships? Please help and thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Sławek

I have some pics that can help. You may have to adjust the contrast in a program like Photoshop to bring the rigging out.

Drop me a PM with your email address.

Hi,

When I built my Kongo I used these three refrences for the rigging (and for the building too):

Hi,
Thank all of you for help.
I created 2 google search requests in japanese using google translate:
Kongo battleship 1914 - https://www.google.com/search?as_st=y&tbm=isch&hl=pl&as_q=%E9%87%91%E5%89%9B+%E6%88%A6%E8%89%A6+1914&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&cr=&as_sitesearch=&safe=images&tbs=isz:lt,islt:2mp
rigging Kongo battleship https://www.google.com/search?q=%E3%83%AA%E3%82%AE%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B0%20%E9%87%91%E5%89%9B%20(%E6%88%A6%E8%89%A6)&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwjigNme06ftAhXTySoKHRcqCrUQ2-cCegQIABAA&oq=%E3%83%AA%E3%82%AE%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B0%20%E9%87%91%E5%89%9B%20(%E6%88%A6%E8%89%A6)&gs_lcp=CgNpbWcQAzIECCMQJzIECCMQJzoCCAA6BggAEAUQHlDn_gNYxIgEYO2UBGgAcAB4AIABd4gB4wGSAQMwLjKYAQCgAQGqAQtnd3Mtd2l6LWltZ8ABAQ&sclient=img&ei=BobDX-LlNNOTqwGX1KioCw&bih=973&biw=1920

Suprisingly models in the first place and a few popular photos. But at least some material to study and few WIPs and build-ups, what can used as a reference.

Somebody knows which guns brass set are better, the flyhawk or the fujimi. It seems that the flyhawk are shorter than the fujimi.
Many thanks.
