Hi all.
i'm starting to detail and correct the turrets of my 1945 KGV rendition.
I already corrected the B turret roof as per pictures and plans, now it's time to start working on the rear o the turrets.
lot of doubts and questions here..
There is a number of...hatches? vent covers? whatever? on the rear side of the turrets, but plans are not according to pictures and pictures are not according to...other pictures.
Both the plans from Kagero publishing and profile morskie shows an arrangement of these "things" that is fairly different from what Eduard provides in the PE set, and this part differs in size and shape from what can be seen in pictures.
All the following pictures are taken from the IWM site, and the attribution to kgv is almost certain.
In the first picture you can see these "hatches" with a sort of round handle-bump on the upper part. they seem to be fairy thin. (1941 circa)
as better shown in this picture (a turret? 1941 circa)
in this picture they seem to be somewhat different
fourth picture: it appears that the hatces now seems to be like "rails". (1943?)
the next pictures are from 1944 royal family visit, as the two video stills.
disaster here.
in the picture with Princess Elizabeht there is clearly a rail and not a hatch, both in the lower and upper rows.
in the video stills (first one Y turret?) there is the evidence of a prominent...vent cover? hatch? tobacco vending machine? alien egg nest? that is visible even on the rear of the B turret in the second video still (link to the video

are there any better images or any hint about this detail?
many thanks in advance
