Steve, thank you for the kind words. I was going to leave picture submitting until after the show+competition in Telford on the 19th. I certainly didnt expect this response, and am as such unprepared, but I promise to take some pictures as soon as I have time. Heres what ive got so far.

Perhaps we should resurrect this one, bearing mind a potential New Year release from Trumpeter......?

Is that more than just a rumour now? I certainly hope so. With that 1/200 'Zona on it's way, nothing would suprise me now.

It is always a pleasure to look at Rogers QE 43

Inspiring stuff--I hope to emulate him at some stage --in a smaller scale!!!

Hi, just found this nice HMS Barham photo collection :

http://www.worldisround.com/articles/16107/

I'm collecting the steel plates ( balsa wood :rolf_3: ) for the hull can't wait to laid down it.

Agree that the site has a useful selection of photos, but one or two of the captions are suspect:

The photo captioned as "Barham and Valiant in Alexandria Harbour" MAY have been taken from BARHAM, but (notwithstanding the text on the photo!) the ships in shot are QUEEN ELIZABETH (nearest) and VALIANT.

The one captioned "Valiant firing during Batlle of Matapan" is probably from a practice firing prior to 1933. 'B' turret still carries an aircraft platform - VALIANT's was removed in 1933, so (if the photo IS of her) then it must have been taken before that.

Yes Tim, a great amount of material, probably some are of other QE class, still downloading it, I will need a lot of time for cataloging all.

...this again is a bit strange :

http://www.worldisround.com/articles/16107/photo448.html

The description says Waterpolo off Barham at Parma, Italy I live at 30km from Parma and as far as I know there isn't water in the range of 150/160 km from my home ... unless the river Po .... :eyebrows:

Always nice to see the Roger Antrobus HMS Queen Elizabeth. For lack of more colourful words, it is f***ing brilliant.

I must confess my being a major QE class guru. I have some pictures of this class I could probably put here.

All fits, all time periods, just stunningly beautiful ships!!

Nice one Laurence, very beautiful photos. I admit though, I actually had the foredeck shot of HMS Barham on my computer already..

Looks like we get some of these from the same places eh :eyebrows:

Just let me figure out what I can post. If we wanted to, between us I'm sure we could have the www's biggest tribute to the QEs sitting right here.

Only a matter of how much of the rare material we've searched for and paid for, we want to disseminate to people for free.............

I could never figure out which ones I loved the most... Two funnels, trunked funnels, tower bridge, Admiralty disruptive camouflage, AP-507A, AP-507C and Spanish civil war ID marks...

They're all just beautiful. Though so are the Rs of course!
