Can anyone help with identifying the turret mottos of the various ships of the class? For example,
Zara's turret 4 had "TENACEMENTE" ("Tenaciously" in English) emblazoned on the sides.
Pola's turret 3 had "ARDISCO AD OGNI IMPRESA" ("I dare to every undertaking", or "Courage in every undertaking" in English)
Please help with any others.
I found that Fiume had motto
Sic indeficienter virtus (thus with inexhaustible valor) derived from the city of Fiume's motto since 1659 – Indeficienter. On the photos – really quick searching – I see only one word on the 3rd turret. My best guess is that the word is
IndeficienterFor Gorizia, there was no motto, I guess. In the prewar photos, there is definitely no motto on the starboard side. On the port side, I see only a fascia on the 3rd turret and a royal (?) crest on the 4th one before the war...
