Hello,

I've just purchased a 350th Dragon kit off of Ebay and looking for PE sets and decals.

BigDaddy Mark: what scale is the PE set you got for your kit and if its 350th do you still have the contact info such as website/email?

Does anyone out there do decal sets for specific units or group of units such as the units crests, battle ribbons and E's? In particular, I'm looking for Port Royal's as she was part the battle group when I went to the gulf in 2001.

Thanks for the help!

Flagship Models makes a PE set for the Ticos. As well as Gold Medal Models and White Ensign Models.

Basically, since these kits were the staples of the 90s/early 2000s, they were also some of the earliest to get PE sets made for them from the older PE manufacturers.

I have been researching the Ticonderoga class ships for a future build and was curious on the torpedo room. It took forever, but I finally found a picture and thought I would share. These are the torpedo tubes on the USS Monterey (CG-61).

With White Ensign out of the picture I'm left wondering who will come out with a detail set for the Tics besides Gold Medal model's offering which is a generic set.

Anyone have any suggestions, tried ebay, Tom's Modelworks etc.

If any shops have the White Ensign set #3552 and willing to do mail order I would appreciate it, let me know via PM.

Thanks for the help!

Flagship Models does a set: http://www.flagshipmodels.com/zencart/i ... e6807951a5

Though, like the GMM set, you'll have to measure and cut the railings to length.

Hi guys, I am building the CG-48 Yorktown in 1988 recently. Could someone give me a hint on which destroyer squadron that CG-48 was in during that time? Or what the badge is in the photo below? Thank you.

If it is CRUDESGRU 8 then in 1988 it would have still been CRUDESFLOT 8 as seen currently on BB-64 as she was assigned to that unit during the Gulf War. I "believe" the FLOTs were all changed to GRUs sometime afterwards but I may be wrong. I can get you a close up shot later this week if you'd like.

Jaymz, the entire A sprue is shared with Dragon's Spruance class destroyer kits (since both classes used the same hull). The "flush design" deck is for use with the Spruances, not the Ticos. See this review of a Spruance kit to compare the instructions: http://www.modelwarships.com/reviews/sh ... eview.html

Hoping some one can help me with my Port Royal project.
I need pictures of the hanger interior. Mostly the forward port side.

Greetings Everyone!

I am currently working on a Italeri 1/350 Gettysburg(CG-64). I cannot find any info or pictures of the placements of the triple torpedo launchers or the 25mm Bushmasters. It appears the torpedo launchers are mounted inside the hull (small door/hatch) slighty aft of midships. If they really are hidden (reduced radar signature) it's no big deal.
But the Bushmasters have to be somewhere. Does anyone have any leads on this?

I've been able to locate both on Burke class ships, but that's another build.

Thanks for your help.

Just for clarity sake, not all positioning is the same with those crew-served weapons. While the responses that have followed the OP are correct in essence, they are definitely not static. I served on the USS Philippine Sea (CG-58) during Desert Shield/Storm. We only had one Bushmaster and it was on the starboard side, amidships just forward of the MWB deck. The Port side had a single 50 Cal mounted (same general location amidships). Small boat engagements were not what we were worried about back then (remember this was pre-Cole). Below is a picture (from my web page) I shot back then when we were engaged in a "hostile boarding".
