Thanks Dan! What about the colours? Did she have the white funnel and rangefinder at Komandorski?

I dunno. There is one photo of her taken from Maya during the battle, but it's a bit dark and distant. It certainly doesn't look like a white topped director, or funnel, at that point.

Btw, there is a second, starboard side photo of Nachi taken in June that also shows the Type 21 radar in place.

Thanks Dan. That's a bit disappointing, I'm drawn to the white funnel as an interesting little patch of colour in my otherwise very grey IJN cruiser line-up but I'm not interested in the June refit because I wanted to build her as she appeared at the Komandorski battle with the early war "clean" bridge, extra windows, no radar. I might fudge it, but good to know if I'm being deliberately artistic. :heh:

Well, have a look.

Given that many ships wore the white topped directors through 1943, I'm thinking you could at least depict that.

I just picked up a 1/350 Myoko 1942 version for a decent price. Does anyone here have any opinions on the Flyhawk update etch set FH350070? I already got the Aoshima fret and replacement weapons sets. I'm open to suggestions for additional upgrades and I still need to go through this thread for needed modifications.

I think Joe Simon built his Myoko with that upgrade set. Perhaps touch base with Joe.
