WALDECK-ROUSSEAU; the final French Armoured Cruiser design, one of a class of two sisterships, Edgar Quinet and
Waldeck-Rousseau developed from the preceding Ernest Renan design; named for Pierre Waldeck-Rousseau, the noted French Republican who had died in 1904.
Builder – Arsenal de Lorient. Designer - Ingénieur L’Homme.
Laid down – June 1906.
Launched – 4th March 1908.
Service – 15th August 1911 to 15th July 1936.
Length 158.9 metres – Breadth 21.51 metres. Displacement 13,874 tons.
Armament 14 x 194mm, 18 x 65mm, 2 x 450mm TT.
