Over @ Steelnavy, someone said a Trumpeter Employee on a Chinese Forum has said a 1/350 Slava will be announced soon.... :worship_1:

If the Kirov-Slava-Udaloy Trifecta actually happens, I'm afraid I'll die and never get to build them!!

Anyone see the ad from Trumpeter for the 1/350 Moskva? Another thread mentioned that Trumpeter never releases on schedule. It has a release of March 2007.
Oh, also, adding more small parts to the Sovremenny, starting on the funnel section. My fingers just can't handle pieces that are like 2mm big.

Hi Tiny Work shop Suggest you try and find a copy of "Soviet Warships" by John Jordon published by Arms and Armour press ISBN number 0-58368-584-3 There are a number of excellent references , pictures etc to the Kirov class . best of luck

well, i have a 160gb drive now to fill, and i thought its only usa navy that had good pics.
Has any one herd if they are going to do a 350 kivov. at that size could it be considered for remote as it would be good to scare some people on the boating lake with this monster

When to the local hoppy shop yesterday in as it trunout forlon hope of getting a Trumpter's Udaloy Bugger its dosn't appeare to have made into Australia yet. So I had to buy the Slava Class curiser "Moskva "121"
Very quick look = It looks like a scale up 1/700 but with a sperate san-10 missle deck and lots of internial detail inside the exhaust stacks that I wasn't awere off before, it also has has the bridge sections in clear plastic as well as the radar's Not sure how these will scrub up guess I will have to try to dry brush them and see how it turns out, there is also a basic etched brass section of radars, and helio deck safty nets.
The only dry fitting I have done is the deck sections to the hull and that was very good
Quick summary = :woo_hoo: :woo_hoo:

No, Kuznetsov (and all carriers) use anti-skid paint, before 2000, all the others didn't use anti-skid paints and had the Red Decks. Now the Udaloys and others have received the dark grey anti-skid paint. Kuznetsov's deck is also dark grey although there are different shades. Her deck can be seen on several pictures on the net nowadays. The Green was only used on the Kiev class in the past. Kuznetsov never had green decks.

Slava has a Red underwater hull, but a black boot topping with a white waterline on top of that.
I've uploaded a picture for you. You can see the darker paint in the place of the boot topping, they go with anti fouling up till the waterline, afterwards they apply the black. This ship is Moskva from the Black Sea Fleet. Occasionally she is seen with the red and white waterline only. The black is sometimes left out, but as you can clearly see in this picture, the normal boot topping looks a lot darker than the remainder of the hull. Which I assume is caused by a black boot topping underneath this layer of anti-fouling.
Image

I have more but I'll have to look through my archives to find them I'm affraid.

Heya Guys-

While putting the finishing touches on my review, I noticed on Page 7 of the instructions it shows a TOP PLATE 3D radar for the "Air Search Radar" step, not the TOP STEER that is on Moskva. The rest of the directions show the TOP STEER assembly; I guess this confirms the announced Varyag release in the future. Of course, it means you also have the parts now....
