Hi,

I'm looking for a detailed photo of the 8 cell Brahmos cruise missile vertical cells located on the aft twin launcher S-125M (SA-N-1) SAM, as well as a detailed photo of the Barak SAM VLS that replaced a pair of the AK-630 CIWS gun mounts.

I would like to remove the forward P-20M missile cells (port and starboard) and replace them with two boxed launchers housing four PJ-10 (BrahMos)

In this configuration the number of Brahmos missile on board the Rajput Class Missile Destroyers of the Indian Navy will be 12 missiles!

More info on this ships here:
http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/NAVY/Ship ... Class.html

I have 3 Combrig kits (1/700 scale) with different versions of the Project 61 Class Missile Destroyers:
Ref. 70336 - Obraztsovy, Kashin Class, Project 61, 1965 with Photo-Etch & Decals but no Box.
Ref. 70337 - Slavny, Kashin Class, Project 61M, 1965 with Photo-Etch & Decals & Box
Ref. 70397 - Rajput D51, Indian Kashin Class Destroyer Pr.61ME (1980) with Photo-Etch & Decals & Box

I only have intentions to build only one version: the INS Rajput - Kashin II Project 61ME

Thanks.
Regards,
Ayala Botto

Do you found these photos?

The convert the Combrig Rajput with Barak and Brahmos launchers would be interesting.

Is there a ship with a forward Brahmos and a VLS launcher for Brahmos? Rajput got two of its P-20M launchers replaced by Brahmos, but has no VLS, but Ranvijay and and Ranvir have still four P-20M, but have the VLS.

There are probably detail photos of Barak launchers on other ships, e.g. Delhi class destroyers and Viraat (ex HMS Hermes).

E.g.
http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/NAVY/Images/Delhi9.jpg

It would be also nice to have a HAL Cheetah helicopter, which is apparently often on board of this ships (beside Ka-28). There is a Cheetah included in Orange Hobby's Viraat, but I would like to have it available separately.

Here good photos of modernised Rajput class destroyers can be found:

Hi

I found some interesting photos here:

I'll use the Combrig Model of INS Rajut (Kashin Class Destroyer) to made the conversion.
I'll replace the fwd twin launcher S-125M (SA-N-1) with the 8 VLS cells for the BrahMos Missiles and replace 2 of the 4 AK-630M gunmounts with the Barak VLS SAM system.
I also must calculate the VLS BRahmos hatches dimensions at 1/700 scale!

There is another difference, at least for Ranvijay and and Ranvir:

their masts and radars were modified!

Ranvir e.g. has a new radar on the foremast (EL/M-2238 STAR), the top of the mast is modified for additional sensors, the main mast features Dutch Signaal LW08 (not sure, could be also the old one??) and the rear Peel Group fire control radar was replaced by two satellite antenna.

/edit: they have also new boats, e.g. the RHIB on the port side.

Hi,

I'm looking for high resolution photos with details of the structures of a complete model of INS Rajput - Kashin II Project 61ME produced by Combrig at 1/700 scale.
Instruction sheet provided by Combrig are very difficult to understand and are really unsatisfying.
I simply cannot built this model with the instructions provided and for that reason, detailed photos of this model would be very useful.
Although I need details and high resolution photos of all sections of this model, details in particular of the bridge section structure are very welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

This is the only photo I found so far regarding the BrahMos VLS at INS Ranvir D54, a Kashin Class Destroyer Project 61ME of the Indian Navy

Does anyone has other photos with the VLS hatches onboard these ships in detail, please?

Thanks.

Hi Darius,

Thanks for the photos!
Meanwhile I found a high resolution photo of INS D54 Project 61Me Kashin class destroyer:
Image

High resolution photo link:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... 281%29.jpg

Notes:
The 8× Brahmos VLS cells are clearly visible where the AFT SA-N-1 SAM Launcher use to be (close to the hangar door).
Also interesting to note is the number of Barak SAM VLS Cells: 2 modules of 8x cells on each side replacing the FWD 30 mm AK-630 CIWS.
That makes a total of 32x Barack SAM VLS cells!

A question:
The Barak VLS hatches seems almost identical to the Brahmos VLS hatches. Is it possible?
Not sure if the Barak and Brahmos VLS hatches of the Kolkata Guided Missile Destroyer class (Project 15A) can be used as a baseline.... :)

Thanks.
Regards,
Ayala Botto

Sorry I think I messed up my links and all the photos in previous post don’t show in hi-res. So here again another try.

Hi,

Yet another photo of the Brahmos VLS cells of INS Ranvir D54:

And now, another interesting upgrade on the Rajput Class Destroyers, namely the INS Ranvir D54: the old 76.2 mm twin main gun was replaced with the 76mm SR Oto-Melara / Oto-Breda Gun!
Due to this upgrade the Gun Director MR-105 was removed as well.
This photo is from 2015.

Yes, that variant with the 7,62 cm gun would be interesting!
