Hi,

I need help to identify the letters in the helicopter deck for each ship of the FREMM Aquitaine Frigates of the French Navy.
So far I managed to collect (from multiple sources), the following information:

D650 Aquitaine ASW - "Q" and "N"
D651 Ex-Normandie (sold to Egypt)
D652 Provence ASW - "P" and "C"
D653 Bretagne ASW
D655 Languedoc ASW
D654 Auvergne ASW
D656 Normandie ASW - "N" and "D"
D657 Alsace FREDA-DA
D658 Lorraine FREDA-DA

Any inputs for the remaining ships would be appreciated!

Thanks.
REgards,
Ayala Botto

Hi,

Thanks to a french modeller, I managed to get access to the letters on the flight deck of the FREMM Aquitaine class frigates of the French Navy:

D650 Aquitaine ASM - Q + N
D651 Ex-Normandie - sold to Egypt
D652 Provence ASM - P + C
D653 Bretagne ASM - B + N
D654 Auvergne ASM - V + N
D655 Languedoc ASM - L + C
D656 Normandie ASM - N + D
D657 Alsace FREMM DA - L + C
D658 Lorraine FREMM DA - L + N

The rule is: the first and last consonant of the ship name.

Thanks.
Regards,
Ayala Botto

The Marine Nationale has 360-degree tours of their ships, including the Aquitaine class: http://visites.colsbleus.fr/

Includes boat bays, stern area, etc. Lots of info for detailing!

Built the Gwylan Model kit of the Aquitaine class, more precisely Provence (D652):

Provence, the Italian ASW version of the FREMM class (Carlo Margottini) and a Formidable class frigate, RSS Tenecious:

I added some additional antenna to the ECM besides the main mast, new gun barrels for the 7.62 cm and 2 cm guns, plus additional antenna at the rear of the bridge and behind the funnel.
