Hi Maarten,

Thanks a lot for the photos.
Exactly the ones I was looking for.

Hi,

I'm looking for detailed photos of the mast on the Lütjens class destroyer of the German navy on ships with the Mk-144 Missile Launcher for RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) installed.

I wonder if anyone could share them.

Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Ayala Botto

Hello Ayala,

seems like we're on the same boat here

You might want to check out this site: https://www.rc-modellbau-schiffe.de/wbb2/index.php?thread/9150-kl-103b-zerst%25C3%25B6rer-l%25C3%25BCtjens-d-185-baubericht/&pageNo=18&s=bfc92aea1c0f6c91515c36c237daa4085e9bed51

It's in German by an ex-crewmember but the pictures speak for themselves. On page 18 you find everything you need to know about the masts during her being fitted with RAM.
I find it to be super helpful while I am building my own 1/700 Lütjens.

Cheers!

Having just completed the Airfix 1:600 "Rommel" as HMAS Brisbane, I tend to think this little kit is an excellent basis for a CFA project. A few others posted "why bother" and attached pics of the Dragon and Revell 1:700 offerings which didn't look as good a quality to me. Certainly some scratch building to do with regards the Ikara and Phalanx and RHIBs, and a lot of detailing added, but its a great little kit. Must be one of Airfix last ones. Does have some strange things, like the stem anchor on the starboard side which is wrong, a few tricky seams on the front surface of the bridge, and a nasty mast arrangement which if I had to do it again would probably replace at least partly with scratch built. But the end result was very pleasing. Can be seen here: https://uk.airfix.com/community/forum/1600-rommel-as-australian-ddg?ccm_paging_p=1#end-of-replies

Looking for a set of deck plans for the Charles F. Adams class. A booklet of general plans would be ideal, but almost anything would be an improvement.
