I have the above kit and want to finish it for a friend as Cape Race. A B&W profile can be found here:
http://drawings.usmaritimecommission.de/drawings_c1.htm Does anyone know what colors are on the Stack or what line is being represented? It doesn't seem to be Ocean Steamship. Thanks for any help. Fred Schwieg

Which kit are you using for this? I hadn't realized there was a C1-A, unless it's something larger than 1/700.

I am working on a C1-A plug in 1/96 scale . Three were used by the US Navy during WWII .They were AE-10 Sangay ( Cape Sable ) , AGP-12 Acontius ( Cape Carthage ) and AGP-13 Cyrene ( Cape Farewell ). The AGP's were torpedo boat tenders . I have photo's of the plug in progress and photo's of the lift they used to pick them up and were they put them on deck .The problem is I can't figure out how to post them . :heh:
It says file to large .How do I change it ?

Dear Richard,

You may be able to reduce the image file size when you upload. Imageshack has that option. You have to select the reduction before uploading.

Sincerely,
Nelson

USS Acontius (AGP-12) should answer the question regarding C1-A ships used as motor torpedo boat tenders. My father sailed on SS Cape Charles, both PT boats and C1-As are of interest to me :-)
