Have become very intrigued by this handsome corvette and am looking at working up plans for a 1/72 scale build. There are two variants Project 21630 - Buyan (small artillery ship) and 21631 - Larger missile armed variant. Questions - anyone have a useful set of plans of either variant? Anyone have any detail/pix on the pump-jet propulsion?

Check this topic, click on blue link below pictures to enlarge. Of course I linked to the page with pictures (of waterjets) you requested, but you can see around the pages of this topic, it's full of nice pics.
I too am very interested by the Buyan-M version with Klub. Very handsome ships!

Thanks Neptune - pure gold! :woo_hoo: The missile variant is a lovely ship too but I will stay with the smaller ship. Now to get some hull lines and to figure out how to make a pump jet!!

Sorry, forgot to direct you to this topic as well. The first one I linked was in the modelling part of airbase.
This one is in the main board:
http://forums.airbase.ru/2005/02/t34913--malyj-artillerijskij-korabl-proekta-21630.html

It has more and different pictures, although I can't really recall seeing any close-ups or better underwater views than in the modelling topic. Anyway definately worth a visit!

Thanks Neptune. This is a well documented ship. Am playing with installing a single KMB JET28 water jet on the centreline with dummy pump jets to port and starboard, with the active jet being covered for display purposes. I note however that there is not very much available on the Buyan-M - am hoping to encourage some colleagues to build that one. Thanks again for all your links.

There is info and pics of Buyan-M available, but they are covered in a different topic on airbase. However I can't recall seeing any dry dock or yard shots of that class. Only some top shots from inside the building halls, but nothing below the waterline. Not sure if they are similar or if there is any considerable change to the jets or hull shape. They're handsome for sure, but for RC they're rather small I guess. You'd be obliged to go to 1/72 or 1/50 or larger scales to make it properly. Your solution isn't bad if you can conceal the working jet nicely.

Sure buddy, here you go. This is a link to the last page, with a table with names of the ships on order. Apparently they ordered already up to 9 units, with 8 names known.
Anyway, the pages before contain the interesting pictures :woo_hoo:

Hi,

I’m looking for the deck colours of the Project 21631 Buyan-M class Corvette of the Russian Navy.
The link bellow (in Cyirilic) shows detailed and high resolution photos with a Project 21631 Buyan-M class Corvette with the decks painted with a (new?) grey colour scheme, that I believe is the same grey colour used on the hull and structures.

However, other photos shows the decks painted with the (traditional/old?) red brick colour.

More info about the Project 21631 Buyan-M class Corvettes:

Any comments regarding the colour decks issue is welcome!

Thanks.
Regards,
Ayala Botto
