This year, Veteran Models released a new/updated series of their venerable modern USN fittings, one of which is the Blk. IB version of the CIWS. The IB version gives them a FLIR, barrel brace, and longer barrel. These differences are included in Veteran's new set as separate parts, so you can also build the original Blk. IA version if you wish.

File comment: The Phalanx body comes with the traditional Block IA barrel. Blk IB barrels are separate and presumably one chops off the IA barrel if you wish to model the IB version.

File comment: Close up. You can technically see the 6 individual barrels at the tip.

File comment: The base and the gun fit into each other very nicely, and you can rotate it up and down as you wish - see photo below.

File comment: Here the gun is horizontal, and is essentially the basic Blk. IA version.

Dave,

Where did you get the RAM? Veteran Models does not really seem to update their website, and I have not seen either the new Mk 15 or the RAM in any US hobby shops.

Pacific Front and a few others have them. I got mine from Pacific Front.
RAM:

Phalanx:

Mk38/Nulka:

They're on par with the RAM, NULKA, and Mk38 I had commissioned in 1/350.

Also, L'Arsenal has received a shipment in. Take a look at the thread.
