I don't if this the right area for this, but I wanted to recommend a good book. I am currently reading Battleship Sailor by Theodore C. Mason. The author describes his time on the USS California during WW2. It gives a good enlisted man's point of view. Very we'll written.

Thanks for the recommendation. I love first hand accounts during the Wars of the past.

I haven't read his first book, but I'm reading his second book now and almost done. Ted Mason's second book is very good! "We Will Stand By You" is about his experiences on USS Pawnee, an ocean tug. He's a plank owner in his second book and gives good insight to the behind scenes happenings in the auxiliary fleet after Guadalcanal was secured. Worth reading!
