Simon, You have done a very nice job of scratchbuilding the Cimarron class in 1/350 scale. I do hate to rain on your parade, but you will not find that any of the Cimarron class oilers ever wore the blue and yellow stripes around their funnels. Only the Henry J. Kaiser class of oilers ever got to wear those. That only happened after they were transferred from being purely Navy ships, to the MSC. Cimarrons were out of commission by then. Otherwise, you've done an outstanding job. :thumbs_up_1:

No worries Tom.
I'm taking a few liberties with this one.
It's basically a study on scratchbuilding before i dive into the world of 1/96 static display semi kits. Got a nice Sirmar HMS York Type42 lined up. It's actually hard to bring myself to finish this with the Jecobin plan for the York looming large on the wall (60" hull).

Impressive "photex" Nektarios. There are hundreds of hours involved for making such a dio.

That´s impressive indeed, Nektarios.

I wish I had place to prepare such a diorama!

I see what you mean Simon. Its very disappointing to see all major navies shrink in size with some few exceptions ( JMSDF, PLAN, Indian navy etc ).

I would like to have even more space to display my ships. 1m x 1m is O.K. for a 2 carrier CVBG but not for something like a 2 carrier CVBG and some landing ships( LHAs, LHDs etc ) or a 3 carrier CVBG.

A photo showing the islands of CV-59 and CV-60. Note the difference in height of the 2 stacks.

Sara's looking worse for wear. Good thing she's close to being saved. I'd hate to see her deteriorate further.

Some photos of LCC-20. Although it belongs to the same class with LCC-19 note the differences between the 2 ships especially in the electronics.
