There's enough color photo evidence from the war showing them unpainted, so a cream canvas color. I'm not sure if there was a directive to paint them, but I always go unpainted.

So cream canvas will be the color..like a sunbleached khaki could be possible?? :?:

Nice work. I hope that someone more industrious than I is cataloging all of the new info in that dive footage. I've watched a lot of it, but there's over 10 hours worth!

does the flag bridge level catwalk sit flush with the frontend of the island or extends a little bit past the frontend of the island?

Dear all here is today's update on the Carrier

I’m continuing the built of the Island adding details and the PE are really rewarding, but man they are so fiddly.

Plus I made added glass windows on the Primary Fly Control.

I got those same plans as I think I linked them to you.
have a look at these links that shows that catwalk goes past the front end of the island, not flush as you have it.

On the plans it looks flush..plus the PE kit is not as long...I will add plasticard structure to simulate the extension...thank you FFG-7 for showing me this detail :thumbs_up_1:

the plans are for 1940 & you are doing the carrier in 1942 so there is about 2yrs that changes would be done that is not shown in the plans. look at the ship's navsource photos & other sources to hopefully confirm what you have done or going to do.
you are welcome.

Is this the correct pattern from top to bottom? HX2

Is there an extra flag to separate the 2 messages?

And thisfor IZ top to bottom?
