Good Job Edoardo81
There are some small differences from the Trumpeter kit, but it looks like a nice build.
On the Uss Laboon I have had to rebuild a large part of the mast. I have made the radomes in 3d.

Hi guys, here an update of my WIP.

I've almost completed the bow.
Only handrailings along the hull miss but I'll put them at the end.

I tried to do some wathering effect along the chain system.

For the cal 50mm looking for some pictures I tried to use the right colours for the barrier, the machinegun and the tripod
Image

here also other situations of rust effect.
Hope having did the right effect: not new, but not going to dismantle for worning out.

I'm advancing step by step without hurry for the wathering effect.
Being my first time I don't want to do in excess

Placed the handrails on the left side of the ship (not on the bow).

The difficult part is to understand what are the iron parts of the handrail, and the wire parts!

I took many many picture of the Spruance to see each handrail

I did a bit of weathering on the superstructure

Hi all, before stopping for holidays here an update of this work in progress.

Starting from the bow I'm completing each part while I'm moving to the stern
The only things I'll put only at the end is lifesavers/lifejackets ecc.
So at the end I can spray with red all the PE not worrying about pieces not about lifesavers/lifejackets ecc.

Bow completed
Image

Ended also midship both sides
I've made a little weathering on the sides of the hull

For the inflatable rafts I know the USA flag is pretty ugly. I've printed it and placed but i want to find a decal. My doubt is to find it with the right dimensions.
I tried to put some improvements, like glass, mast, and flag. I tried also to add wires along the sides of it but I didn't make it.

Hope you like it

Hi all, I'm back to work.
Finally I've ended the stern.

Now I will put safe boats on the sides of the ship and then I'll move to the sides to the command deck for the details.

One thing about lifesavers: I'm uncertain about them if it's better result using the pontos PE with better details but thick or the plastic print with 3d dimensions but less details.

What do you think?

Here both sides of the ship

Hi guys, here I am with a new update.
The ship is almost completed.
Usa flags, rigging and helicopters missing (last ones are work in progress)

I know in this forum there are authentic masterpieces, but I hope you like it.
It's first time I do a model with an expansion and weathering. So this time I had to face my inexperience.

I've also added some of selfmade details, like the lights over the hangars and all the fire prevention pipes near water hoses (those little pipes with the red tops)

Here some pictures.

It's a good job. The small details add more interest to the model.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your comments. They mean lot for me.

Here a little upgrade before the last pictures of this thread
Rigging is done.
Flags also.

Helicopters done

One for hangar

The other one for the helipad

I've used the kit defaults heli trying to keep the glass transparent. It' very difficult (for me) working on a trasparent model. I hardly see the borders for covering correctly the glasses.
I've seen the HS models Seahawk but I don't know where to buy them.

Now it's time to paint the plate.
Here I've found a problem.

I've decided to paint the plate black and the frame and writing in gold but it doesn't stick.
Image

So I've removed all the paint.
The plate is in resin, so what should I do for sticking the paint? A hand of primer before?

Does anyone had this experience?
Thanks

I really like the effect on your deck! Great build, very enjoyable tour thru your pages this afternoon. It’s great to see how people do things.
