When you work on the four pieces below the island, do not use the insert piece (The interior four sided part that the exterior walls are attached to). Just assemble them square and the upper island should fir directly onto them. Their is a square extrusion on the bottom that should fit inside of the assembled walls and could be used to assist in assembling them. Mine should arrive today... ( I ordered the open window version, but I may go back and try the white acrylic closed window version)

Your work is top notch as always. I have the older Mini-hobby Kit that I was planning re-doing in 1969 configuration using Star fighter decals. I will be following and taking notes from the master.
thanks for sharing

Have the evergreen plastic for the hangar deck. Still have a lot of sanding to do on the hull. In the meantime the island is coming along.

Ok, put the America down for a minute. I have do some rework on the starboard and port aft sponsons. They are not lining up correctly with the flightdeck. So I am getting back to work on the beehive. I know my headline say 1967 BigE. But I look at all these boxes of Tamiya and Trumpeter F-14's. I got to get rid of them some kinda way. So I decided to build her when first got the Tomcats. So this thread is close. Post this weekend of the new thread.

Guys, any idea how the decals look in the hangar bay during this time period? I know those excellent deals from Patrice will not work with my build. Thanks!
