Another one

Here the (almost) OOB build from the IJN Minelayer Hirashima (平島) as found in the Tamiya Auxiliary Vessels
(it's the one in the front)



since the vessels are pretty crude i decided to do a little work on them (not too much , otherwise I have the same problems again that no vessel will be build)

One of the things was to drill out the portholes.... it just looks so much nicer with them...
I used a 0,6mm drill for them (as found somewhere on the net)


Here another view of the portholes, they still look a little big, but that changes as soon as the ship is painted


Soon more as I begin building it....

Also a small question : Unfortunately the kit was missing one ship and the decals..... is there by any chance someone who still has the decals and doesn't need them ??? Thanks in advance

So, had some time this afternoon / evening and in a few hours I (almost) finished this one

Here some pictures of this quick build

The life boats that came with the kit were very crude and no davits were provided, so this one is not entirely OOB, but I added the davits and life boats of the pit-road sets that come with several escort vessels and torpedo boats....

I also replaced the twin 25mm guns with the one from pit-road

don't mind the lighting cause it's almost too dark to make pictures

If all goes well, I'll finish her tomorrow and put in some better pics

Added the little hose reel, the anchors, and rear mast painted black....

Unless someone can provide me the decals, I'll call this one finished

A simple build, but nevertheless fun ....
