Thank you. First aircraft (Tamiya's fuselage). I will glue it to the hangar deck, don't know what else to put to nose, piece of lead is not enough.

Yeah, not much you can do as they are tail heavy. Little blob of glue on the nose gear and you're good to go. I haven't yet glued mine down. Hangar deck looks fantastic :thumbs_up_1:

Nice job on that hangar. Your lighting is just right. Make sure you use white glue when gluing your aircraft to the deck, gives you freedom to make last second position changes and it dries super strong. :thumbs_up_1:

Beautiful hawkeye at this scale. The propellers came with the kit or are PE ones?

Flight deck is ready for 75%, not glued yet (still awaiting for PE from WEM, still no work on hangar and aircraft). Catwalks from GMM set 350-29 (extra), Tom's Modelworks Flotation Racks (105 pieces, 210 floats to be glued...omg...) were applied .

I used kit's decals+acrylic paints, also gonna apply self made decals instead of GMM's one (no at all anywhere). Some work with airbrush required.

What time frame are you building? FYI, the island ID numbers were not lighted until early or mid 80s. However, it looks pretty nice. :thumbs_up_1:

Yeah, that is true. But I like it so much that I decided to retreat slightly from the historical authenticity. I am building a 1975 (+very beginning of 76).

This is a first approach - LED strips are just crumpled inside of island and walls are not blackened (to avoid translucence of walls). Going to paint lower part, apply decal to cover the holes and glue it to the deck - decal is matted, so, will look nice. Rest of island's details will be applied later.

Well, details about lighting promised yesterday.

Island (low part) is not yet glued, just assembled, painted and aligned. LED strips are organized but also not yet glued - I have to finish all on flight deck.

Here it is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... OC:US:3160

They also have such racks for Enterprise - much better than for Nimitz.
