Thanks guys.

Today I finally finished the 127mm guns. The Ocean spirit parts are really great.

Here are the pics from last weekend.

I added two lifeboats on two davits. I hope this is sturdy :) .

The plane is attached to the catapult, I just need to add the rope for the trolley.
Also the crane is finished.

And here are more pics.

Not shown on the pics, the 127 mm are attached.
Now missing are the figures from Shelf Oddity, the accommodation ladders, the booms and the rigging of course.

I got my crew this weekend :thumbs_up_1: .

There you see from left to right Shelf Oddity IJN Sailors, IJN Officiers and Northstar Models IJN Pilots.

Image

I'm really impressed with the figs. Way better than the flat PE ones.

Here are the first three at the bridge:

Image

And here are the pilots on the flight deck:

Image

I'm really satiesfied with the outcome of the figures.
I will also order from Shelf Oddity the Binoculars.
But I will possibly switch back to the Derfflinger. The model have to be finished at end of May.

3D crews! I have seen the model in an earlier stage of construction in Zeiskam and it was already very detailed.

Looking forward to the complete one!

I'm sorry for no new Posts lately, but the model is not dead.
I added the last small parts. For the kit anchors I used some from a Flyhawk set and not the ones on These pics.
I put the model to a sea base. I also made the rigging. Last steps will be adding more Crew and some small repairs here and there.

Beautiful work mate! Very nice Kongou that makes me not want to do one looking at that superstructure (but I will - Kirishima though - one day).

Keep up the work!

The figures and floatplane add a lot of life to the scene.

Cheers,

It was a relief to finish this project after two years.
But the problem is I had many others started. My list dosen't get shorter :rolf_3:
