Gentlemen, thanks for your kind responses :thumbs_up_1:

I've been idle for a couple of weeks, mostly because my kids had schoolvacation, and no chance in hell I'll work on tiny photo etch with those critters running around

Anyway, managed to attach the flightdeck (before that I painted the rear deck) and glue the support beams in place. Koppalakki's thread came in very handy, regarding correct set-up

It will almost be a shame to paint her.

Joe, Aop and Dan, glad you guys bear with me and like it. Many thanks for that

Time for an update ^^

I finished construction the Nr. 1/2 and 3 main turrets and the forward Nr.1 secondary turret. The two forward main gun turrets are depicted as they just fired 'San Shiki' or Beehive shells at incoming aircraft. The guns in the lower position dropped to this position after firing for reloading purposes.

Brett, thanks a lot mate ^^

Joe, thanks and what's keeping ya from doing that? :P

Some more progress, I finished the aft secondary battery.
Image
I also finished the stern gun platform
Image
The main guns AA platforms received some extra armor using sandbags
Image
And I made a start with one out of many armored triple AA guns

Cheers

Scott and Simon, thanks a lot guys.

Well, time for some progress. I thought it was a good moment to start painting the main gun turrets. Started initial weathering as well with a filter, although that's not very visible on the photo.

The last photo looks good to me, I like how it's subtle with the multiple pigments and not overwhelming.
