This build is what I think the US Navy's Whidbey Island and Harper's ferry class replacement should be. The Navy determined it's next LSD, based on the proven San Antonio lpd hull ,will put less emphasis on the well deck , with only enough space for 2 lcac vs the 4 carried by its predecessor, and will be more aviation capable. I'm scratch building LX(r) with what I think it should incorporate, i.e a full length docking well. Im using an old LPD 17 hull that was broken to pieces on accident by my mother, and I'm rebuilding it up from there.....

If this is a thread for documenting your construction progress, I will move it to the Picture Post -> Works in Progress section. If this is meant to be a discussion of features of the real LX(R), then I'll re-title the thread to be in line with the rest of the CASF forum's format.

Let me know.

I'm actually documenting the build so it's a work in progress.

Either post them as links on a photo hosting site like Imgur or use a photo editing program like Paint to reduce their size - forum limits are 200kb size and 1200*1200 pixel dimensions

Nice work there, like the added length that you have done.

Yeah , I extended the docking well long enough to accommodate 5 lcacs, 1 more extra than the Whidbey Island class LSD, this is all thanks to the San Antonio class' longer and wider hull, right now I'm working on the upper vehicle bay, ramps and turntables features all associated with the Whidbey islands ,I still cant believe the navy's making its next LSD aviation centric and not going with a full length wet well..... Pity.

Well that is because of relying on UAV's and QARG's.
