Hello,
The previous diorama being finished. I started this day drawings for the next.
The scene will be the large 250-ton crane in the port of Hamburg in 1940.
The ship will be the Bismarck - KIT Revell with the Kit details Pontos Models. As I find interesting to post you the advanced Assembly of cranes and building. But for the Bismarck, there is so much editing of this ship on the forums. That I will not post the Assembly of the ship. I'd start posting the ship during the painting of the effects of the weather.
I spent these last 2 months to draw the different elements of the diorama. The result is 19 boards in A4 format.
The diorama going to 850 mm x 345 mm. Below a plan available to the different scenes.
Looking from the front: on the left a set of work and storage with cranes (4 total). 2 per span on the same track. I've simplified the topic because normally when there are two wheelchair bridges they are on way to rolling bunk.
Below, there will be a fabrication with 3 sets mecanosoudes and finishing court yard. I have scaffolding and characters while you work (riveting, welding and painting). Characters are originally from the 1/700 drawings made by Migou31 for its diorama on mare Island.
At the center of the diorama. The Bismarck (during the visit of the Commander Lindemann for its command). And behind the 250-ton crane.
The latter designs were more complicated than expected. The previous Nagasaki crane is composed of 2 subset (one vertical and one horizontal). It breaks down into 5 subsets. The result 6 Board A4 for a total of nearly 400 pieces. The editing will be more sensitive
Behind the crane two building. 1 represented by its façade and the other a warehouse in wood with an open front. As pictured below.
On the right of the diorama, I planned a feature of the port of Hamburg. The dock of unloading of commercial vessels. At that time there were different (10) docks formed on the same principle. For my part I chose the platform representing a building with a dozen cranes for unloading of materials. Below photos (indicated on the picture source) having served for the stage design.
And of course a rail set with cars and loco. For the loco MIGOU31 gave me his BR50 with tenders board. A big thank you to him.
I will complete the diorama with a set of vehicles (cars, trucks, cars, etc.) to the 1/350th at L'arsenal.
Today, I opened the elements of the kit of the Bismarck by including details from PONTOS Kit.
On the latter, they are planning to replace all the vertical walls with detailed elements of PE. The bad surprise being that all doors are closed. And I like to do open doors. Especially for dock building. Then I'll repaint all the walls by with the doors open.
The following receipt of PE boards.
I wish you a good end of the day.
Best Regards
Alain.
