Hi,
/7
I'm currently building Obraztsovy destroyer, Project 61 Kashin Class of the Soviet Navy (Combrig 70336) 1/700 scale model and I'm a little bit confused regarding the location of some PE parts.

There is yellow number (from 1 to 13) on the specific parts I'm looking for their location.

Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Ayala Botto

I am pretty sure that #s1 and #2 are the platforms on the P/S and Foreward parts of the Foremast.

The #s1 have the sides fold-down to form a support-bracket for the P/S Platforms, and they have the lights or radomes mounted on them. I cannot tell if there is one pair of these platforms, or if there are two pair. From the PE parts, it looks like just one pair, with bad instruction drawings.

#2 is the platform goes on the upper forward part of the Foremast.

#3 and #4 are the yardarms on the masts.

#3 is the Yardarm on the Mainmast (aft mast), while #4 is the Yardarm on the Foremast.

#7 looks like the supports for the platforms on the face of the bridge.

#8 is the platforms on the P/S sides of the Mainmast.

#12 looks like the antenna that is on the rear of the platform on the mainmast. But there is only one of these, but two of #12. These could be boat cranes that are not listed in the instructions.

I am trying to look for other photos of Kashin-class ships to see what the other parts might be.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your help.

Updated photo:
Image

http://s15.postimg.org/of42uun2z/is7033 ... ovy_3a.jpg

Updated list parts and their location, identified so far:

FWD Mast / Mainmast:
#3 - Horizontal Top Yardarm
#2 - Platform on the upper forward part of the Foremast
#12 - Antenna at the rear of the top platform
#8 - Platforms on the P/S sides, bellow part #3
#1 - Platform on the P/S sides

AFT Mast / Rearmast:
#4 - Horizontal Top Yardarm
#9a - Diagonal supports fixed bellow to the horizontal top yardarm
?? - Platform on the P/S sides

Any idea about the platforms P/S on the rearmast identified with the "??"
Part #9a (diagonal supports) seems to be fixed between the horizontal top yardarm (part #4) and the platforms identified with "??"

Unidentified parts so far:
#5
#6 (2x)
#7 (2x)
#10 (3x) - probably davits supports for the life boat (Port side)???
#11

These are universal PE sets for all Project 61 Kashin models produced by Combrig.
For this specific ship, Obraztsovy, not all PE parts are needed.

Thanks.
Regards,
Ayala

Hi,

I managed to identify a few more PE parts of this model, namely:

Part 13: PE Top Base plate of the FWD Mast
Part 14: PE to be applied on the "Dish" of Owl Screech - Fire Control for the SA-N-1 (2x)

Nice model! It could be that some parts are for other versions of the Kashin class.
