Nice job Joe :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: Hull looks most complicated and intricate to put together :eyes_spinning: supposed to be a fun kit to model not a jigsaw puzzle jeez.. Companies raise the bar but it always gets complicated.

Looking very promising.

Much work done on the flight deck. It is a combination of Pontos, Tamiya grating, and Lion Roar perforated plate. I had to Dremel tool the Pontos part to remove the solid area and install the perf board. Flight deck is not attached as of yet. Total time is 135 hours thus far.

Looking great so far!
What kind of glue do you use for mating those large PE decks to the plastic hull?

Cheers,

Marijn

Thanks Dan and Marijn! I used thin CA on the decks.

Now I see the two PE sets are so useful! This is going to be amazingly detailed! :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

Missed this one but I'll be definitely checking in from time to time. I'm building the same kit for about a year or two now :D Koppalakki's one was inspirational to me as well.

Seems you had a great start, looking really good so far!

Post subject:  Re: IJN Yamato, 1/350, 1945

Thanks Aop and Gewoon! Some progress on aft bridge. I added the Lion Road gun tub bottoms and put in 0.005 styrene triangle supports. I had the option of using the Pontos parts but felt they showed too much gap around the supports, and also felt the supports were too thick. I also added other styrene supports in accordance with Skulski.

Great work!
The scratch built support match the molded kit supports perfectly.

I'll bring it if you insist. It may take you some time to judge a box of parts however!
