By the way, the original brass ship's bell that located in front of the conning tower is heavily oxidized and lost its shinning appearance, I replaced the bell with a new one, along with the clapper.

Hi there guys. The Askold has suffered yet another accident: I dropped the hull on the table while trying to repair the small defect on the searchlight platform. While the hull and most superstructure and deck equippments are intact, the finished mainmast and newly erected foremast are completely destroyed..... This setback has cost me another week to reconstruct both masts and all rigging previously done to the mainmast.
Well, at least I got a chance to correct the small mistakes that I made on the old mainmast.
Here's what I've done in this week:
1.Repaired the mainmast and the boat derrick boom.
2.Redone the rigging to the mainmast, with corrected distribution of mast stays, leechcords and halyards.
3.Replaced the destroyed St. Andrews battle ensign with a new one.
4.Added an "honor ensign" to the masttop.(Askold was awarded to fly this ensign by the Tsar, some time after 1904)
5.Added a wheel to the portside motor launch(hanging outboardly by davits)
6.Added an equipment box(has a hand crank on the outside, exact purpose unknown) and an auxiliary anchor crane to the stern deck.

Yes it's quite frustrating in the first place, seeing two weeks of work getting destroyed in seconds, however I have come too far to just give up, so she's again back on track now.

Much appreciate your encoragement, Gator. The accident somehow reminds me of a news piece that I've read several days ago, the news says that a bunch of kids from junior high in UK sneaks into a warehouse containing a large railway model set and destroys pretty much every thing. The set is constructed by many model-loving pensioners who devoted 25 years in this set. It's definitely heartbreaking seeing the devastated scene for these old folks. One modeller to another, I think I can understand their frustrating fellings.

Hi there guys  ,Here's another smalll progress on the ship that I've done in this weekend. She is almost ready for sea except for a few details to be added. The entire construction has lasted for 21 months since I bought this kit in September of 2017, almost as long as the construction of the real ship.
Below are detailed progress on the ship:
1.An auxiliary anchor added to the stern.
2.Foremast reconstructed and erected behind the wheelhouse, for a second time.
3.A Part of rigging of the foremast and funnels.
4.Added a scratch made chart table with a collapsible glass panel(as seen on many bridge photos),two new engine telegraphs(old ones were removed) and an unidentified white euipment to the starboard wing of the bridge, albeit causing a small damage to the bridge railing.

Hi there Cyclops and all,

This construction can only be classified in the "Outstanding" chapter. Being a fan of rigging myself, yours leaves nothing to be desired !!!

Keep the nice work, and keep the pics coming, and best regards from Spain,

Willie.

Again this were yesterday's progress on the rigging. NO.1and NO.2 funnel rigging largely finished, three more to go. The last things which will be fitted to her are her jackstaff and stern flagstaff.

Man, simply a breath-ta-king construction. And the rigging. And the sensation of heavy... A lovely thing to see.

Congrats again, and very best regards,

Willie.
