Hi all! I just began working on the USS Lewis as she appeared in 1952/1953, after SCB63A modernization to improve her ASW capability. The base for this work is the Rudderow kit from PitRoad, as It contains all the part to build it as a John c. Butler.
I only used some parts: the hull (slightly modified), the aft section and the bridge part. The rest is all made using plastic sheets of various thickness (.020, .040, .050...and so on) and brass plates. I'm still thinking if use the turrets supplied in the kit (with sink marks and some flaws...) or buying Model Monkey's 3D printed parts.

Thanks Dan!
More progress: Some railings, and finally turrets! The barrels will be substituted with the brass-turned ones from RB-Model.

I'm a big fan of those 1950s conversions and like what I'm seeing. Looking forward to what's ahead.

thanks Jodie!
Here is some more progress (If we consider rebuilding a progress... :heh: )
After I found more pictures on the unofficial Lewis' Veterans' website I realized that I mistook the shape of the bridge, plus the width of the closed commanding bridge. Hence the decision of rebuilding everything
I also added the brass barrels to the gun mounts, and added some details on each mount.
