A lot more got done on the König during the summer. Unfortunately, the plan to finish her was interrupted by problem with my air compressor. This should be fixed in a few week.

Before painting began, I fixed nuts to the hull and drill appropriate holes to the base.

The first plan was to display her on bare wooded base. This was quickly change to have a water surface

I tried to follow the technique described by Marijn van Gils.

I tried to look at pictures of Jade bight found on Google. I hope this isn't too far off. Perhaps too blight.

Deck color was taken care off at the same time.

This is how she sits at the moment.

Painting started with superstructure sub-assemblies.

Proof that painted deck is superior to wooden stickers. :thumbs_up_1:

It took unexpectedly large amount of effort to do the ship's boats. I'm not totally satisfied with it but perhaps I'll try to do better with my next ship. this one has to get done somehow.

On the plus side, Flyhawk PE boat trolleys really improve the look of these boats. And ICM did a good job too for the boats.

It came to the detailing part.

The last two of the ship's boats were done.

Fixed the anchor chain

And move on to rigging. The Uschi's rigging thread is very easy to work with.

Next update should see it completed, well ahead of the planned 11/11/2018.

Exquisite! Veery nice rigging also there! as 1/700 builder to me the biggest compliment is along the lines of it looks like 1/350 or smth. So this deffo fits the bill. Looks like 1/350! :thumbs_up_1:

Great build; the rigging is particularly nice.
