Please move, if the topic against rule.

Tried to build my own HMS Devastation in fall 2014, the 2014 version base on the Photo-Etching design. Because of the poor reference (Only a plan from Brown's Warrior to Dreadnought and some photos), it was full of mistake. :Oops_1:

so I drew a new version Photo-Etching to fix these mistakes in 2015, base on the builder's plan, but this version was never built. and the Devastation project was temporarily suspend. :eyes_spinning:

and Last mouth, I tried to drew a new 2018 version by SW, and make body and structure by SLA 3D print, Deck, bridge and others by Photo-Etching.

Ideal is beautiful…… :doh_1: , the first 3d print body failed. I drew so many details and locating holes on the ship, too small body filled with details, can not be "correctly" printing SLA 3D printer. details looks terrible…………

Now, I am redrawing a sample version with less details. and improve something that I feel not OK.

great project!

and excellent choice of ship

Your method looks to be innovative and should bear good results with assured symmetry!

Bravo

What you called a 'failed' first attempt looks much better than my balsa and styrene scratchbuild projects.
I think you are really on to something, looking forward to seeing more of this!

Thank everyone.

@pascalemod

I will make resin kit after I put PE decks and 3D printed hull together. But, I do not intend to sell this……for now. Because it is “disgusting” to drawing an installation instructions……

And, yes. it is hard to make it full hull, I do not have a sheer drawing for this ship. Devastation has a complicated hull bottom, profile plan and sections are not enough.

Good luck on your project. Seems like you put a lot of effort into it and I'm sure it will be terrific. I work with 1/550 scale and know that working with small models is a very difficult proposition. Looks like you are up to the challenge, however! :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

Hi,
And what did you do with the gills shown in the first photo? I would like to buy them as backup material for other projects in 1/700?
