I use inventory/leftover PE all the time for things other than its intended purpose. It's fun to see you doing it too.
Bravo!

When looking at those last pictures.... wasn't rely happy with bow.... looks way to wide....so modified some more
but at a certain point you must stop to keep some stiffness

windows in... I used transparent glue on all sides of these to seal off these windows and so avoid painting penetration when rest will be done
note also... stairs going down in the rear of bridge have been cut away... as I did with all molded stairs on the ship

a IOWA without portholes is not good... so gonna check where they are and do them, it gives me also an idea of certain details and more kit modifications to do where walls are wrong.... don think I will be able to correct all... but it will be a close call I think

for me as I go so small... 3 D printing pieces surface are ...not good enough... to much rimples
so I scrape it flat. the 2 on the left is original, the one on the right has been scraped

I suppose if you build from box its maybe good enough... but for me .. nope

to see what the structural modifications are... 2 pics to compare
today I reduced the walls of the 6 top level AA 40 mm guns, first I straitened them as they go larger on base... so in reducing base I get more free space on the lower terraces next I scraped the inside of the tubs ... so I reduced them about 1mm ... in hole that makes something like 2mm inside circle diameter increase... on that scale... on the real ship that makes about 1.7 m ...
