You may want to try Plastruct 0.3mm styrene; I find it easier to glue and easier to bend into shape while gluing (if applying to styrene, that is)

I have styrene 0.3mm and even used 0.1mm for the vertical gun walls...so not sure what you are talking about.

Nice. All those details will add up to a very pleasurable viewing experience. The paint on the sides of the hull is as impressive as your last big project was.

Thanks for the tip. I went back to page one and saw where you began. Just as I suspected, you are accomplishing what you set out to do, big time.

BTW, I like the box art on those two "new" models. Looks like the pictures are designed to be cut out and used as stand alone pieces.

yeah the old boxes look good... I like the shape of the Nagato, the typical Pagode shape superstructure the Japanese ships had during WWII makes them so different and there for so interesting to do

Isnt the hull red a bit pinkish?

Author:  Triumph68 [ Thu Oct 29, 2020 12:51 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: re-do of old 1/535 Iowa revell

yes it is a little pinkysh.. but darker in real as t looks on the pics.... I use bright light when shooting so details are visible... but it makes colors bleach out and the white sheet under does that as well.
did a dry-fit of all done

Gotcha. I think it reflects well the modern hull colors I see which are very vibrant. I think back in those days they were more brownish in hue. Interesting to see sometime a more natural light foto of course, when ready. :thumbs_up_1:
