Since last year I have been dribbling over a 1/200 Bismarck and recently I hit the buy now button after spotting one at an unbelievably low price, it now sits in the garage and as it has been many years since I built anything like this I decided to start with the bonus turret first.

After mulling over whether to motorise and fit r/c I decided to go for an out of the box build and keep the cash for something else later.
Photos have been cropped quite hard but I have realised that I need very bright light as the old eyes aint quite what they used to be.

There's a lot more to do on the lower parts of the turret and It's going to be a slow build because work gets in the way.

That's already looking impressive, and only promises to get even better!

There's no such thing as too many Bismarck builds. Now Titanic's on the other hand...

Best wishes for ya as you embark on this monster kit! :thumbs_up_1:

Thanks guys, did a little more today and found a couple of errors, the alignment inside the barbette was a little out and this was not discovered until after I had applied the adhesive, there is still some etched brass to fit and I missed the ones at the front of the turret where the barrels emerge.

The pic below it the front section of the bow which is a little distorted so it's only half glued for now.

Not a lot has happened with this due to a little event (gross understatement) which put me out of action for a week but today I finally got round to fixing the bow section in place, clearly there is a lot of filling and sanding to be done before the painting.

A little something is missing, bottom centre, no problem as it's where the bollards are to be fixed. It amazes me just how much detail the manufacturer manages to get into the plastic.

Anyway, the daylight has faded so it's off to study the plans to plan my next move and suss out how to upload decent images.

Just been having a little dry run with the larger parts of the superstructure and resizing images.

The hangars are a wee bit on the fiddly side and as luck would have it the smallest piece decided to go walkabout but I got the little git.
Dreading the etched stuff but some day I will bite the bullet.

The part that went walkabout is bottom right on the side of the hangar.
