Thank you gtb -red,
you can get sidewinders in 1/700 from 3 sources.
1) from the new GMM airwing PE set.
2) from the Pitroad S21 Modern US Military Aircraft Set(1) and
3) from the Pitroad S20 Modern Russian Aircraft Set. Of course in this case the missiles aren t really sidewinders but who can tell in 1/700?

I used option nr. 3 for my aircraft mainly because the Russian aircraft set includes a large number of "sidewinder" missiles and some other great stuff too.

P.S. your 1/350 Nimitz is very inspiring. I m waiting for Starfighter decals to do the CVW-11 set in 1/700 so that I ll start working on that

Hi Nektarios,
totally Awesome build, your best yet i think, your use of Starfighter decals on the a/c really compliments the carrier, it looks more like a 1/350 build than the 1/700 it is. i look forward to seeing more.

Maybe I will gtb-red when I finish building some more carriers I want to in 1/700 like

CV-67 which will hopefully be released by a resin company.
CV-43 1980s which is a long term plan for another company.
AVT-16 if and when an angled deck Essex is released.

But maybe I could convince you to convert in 1/700. 1/350 is great but you can't build as many ships as you want to due to size, cost and limited nr. of kits available.

1/700 is the real challenge for me.

gtb-red,
as John has said contacting each other has helped accelerate our builds. You are very welcome to join us in doing this.
If you need info photos or anything concerning your build contact one of us.
We have helped each other by exchanging photos, information and some small stuff like tilly cranes etc.
I have sent a small article on by build of Harry S. Truman to this site which when posted I believe you ll find very interesting.
My Harry S. Truman has been deployed as you see in the photo below with its CVBG which includes:
2 Ticonderoga CGs, 2 Spruance DDs, 2 Arleigh Burke DDGs, 2 Seawolf class SSNs and a Sacramento class AOE.
A 10-ship CVBG is reallly an awesome sight and its what made me love and build USN warships.

gtb -red they look great. But not only them your Nimitz is looking really nice great job. Starfighter decals makes both 1/700 and 1/350 aircraft look so impressive.

Hey Nektarios, your CVN-72 looks great, nice work on the a/c weapons and stores.

Hey gtb, as Nektarious said great work on the a/c and your Nimitz does look great, seems like your blockage has been lifted.
