Last of the BB-62 pictures. This was one of the easiest models i ve ever built.
The kit presented no problems in its construction and the GMM PE set was very easy to use.
I enjoyed every part of the build since it is one of the few times i build such a huge surface ship other than a carrier.

They look superb John,
I enjoy making these small ships but unfortunately the types i want (La Combattante variants) aren't available in 1/700. :mad_1: :mad_1: :mad_1:

Some more photos of small ships

Nektarios,

PT Dockyard makes 1/700 Iranian Kaman class (La Combattante II) missile boats and many other post-WWII fast attack craft. They're meant for wargaming, but with a little bit of work/PE/spare parts/scratchbuilding, I think they will look pretty good. They are not up to the detail standards of some of the larger resin or injection molded manufacturers, but they do provide subjects that are not otherwise available in 1/700. I've done a fair amount of scratchbuilding, but I like the fact that these simple kits will save me time the time of scratchbuilding all of the small craft that I want to build.

I have several (USN PB MkIIIx2, 1960s USN Asheville class, 1980s USN Asheville class, Iranian Kaman classx2, USN Nasty class PTF, USSR P-4 MTB) of the small craft from PT Dockyard, but I have not had time to build them.

I bought one of the Kaman class to build as Joshan which was sunk by US forces in 1988 during Operation Praying Mantis (retaliation strikes for the mining of the FFG Samuel B Roberts). I bought a second Kaman class to build as one of the Libyan Combattante class sunk by USN aircraft during Operation El Dorado Canyon (1986 strikes against Libya). Now, I don't have to scratchbuild them...

I've included the link below to their kit list.

oh my, i cant believe how many ohp's you have!! You must have a lot of storage space to hold all your models. Still cant believe the detail on your carriers. Keep em comming because they are a joy to look at!

Dustermaker thanks for your comments. I m lucky to have a big house so space isn t a limiting factor for 1/700 ships.
I intend to build as many U.S. warships as possible. My intention is to make a 600-ship navy.
You can see why in the photos below. So much power.

Mail came today and WOW!!!!! one of the most useful decal sheets i 've ever seen. The new decal sheet from Ships & Co. It contains simply everything one could wish for. This decal can be used not only for the upcoming Kilauea class kit but also to improve other replenisment ships. I have erased several names from the decal sheet so that the S & Co future projects will not be revealed. This was their request. When you ll get one of their first 2 kits then by looking at their decal sheet you ll have several surprises. That s all for now. Their PE set for Kilauea should be ready very soon.
