John, I can t believe that the detail can get any better than that.

The Shapeways 3D printers have limitations.... So a lattice masts, Gun barrels etc in 1/700 are nat able to be printed.... but I am sure next generation printers will make this possible...
The 3D scanners are a very exciting addition.

Very nice work on Dodo's K-130 Nektarios, can I make a suggestion for your Canberra colour, I see you are using Tamiya so if you mix XF-12 with XF-14 that will get you pretty close to the Storm grey colour used by the Aussie Navy.

You are right that Dodos models are beautiful, The Armidale class patrol boats are little gems and I am hanging out for the Anzac class frigates they have planned.

Heres my 3 Armidales. My flags are to big but I don't have any smaller Aussie Flags and I wanted them there.

Yes I am a bit obsessed with RAN ships, good fun though

That is fantastic Callum. A few more vehicles and figures will make it perfect!

John Dodo models are not 3-d printed kits . The PE set has some parts so tiny that you can barely see them. You cant believe that someone can produce such detail in 1/700.

It was not meant to sound like Dodo Models were 3D printed, I have watch Dodo put out some very good models, I was just saying that 3D printing is opening new doors and taking modeling to new heights....... If I was a manufacturer I would probably do my master in 3D and develop it from there,,,,,,
But yes I agree Dodo models are great and modeling in general is in great shape...

Here are some photos of a couple of improved Orizzonte class AAW Italian destroyers.
I have used the Delphis kits together with their aftermarket decal set (the kit does not come with decals) PE from GMM sets and UNREP plus helicopter landing area decals from ships and Co. decal sheet.
Improvements are the replacement of the aft Oto Melara 76mm Super-Rapido gun with a RAM launcher, the addition of an Oto Melara 127mm gun for Naval gunfire support and the addition of a third 20mm gun for defence against small boats.

Hey Nek,
Man those ships look great, now that I have a new handle on my picture editing I can repost all those ships and subs I've needed to post for sometime now. Also, I'm still working on your Russian Victor I,II, &III's classes, got to get more resin material.

Seeing as I might be posting in here when I get the updated Dragon HMS Illustrious, I thought I would show my last 700 scale attempt - It is HMS Edinburgh a batch 3 type 42 called affectionatly Fortress of the Sea, well she was when she was still afloat - she has alas been scrapped a few years now.

Anyway just the two pics of her - please excuse the build quality as she was my first 700 scale build and was a bit tiny to work on back then prior to me current build equipment.
