There is a dome. It's just faired into the bow fairly well. It was the whole reason for moving the port anchor to the bow. Compare Kitty Hawk to JFK.

Once the dome is right, I'll fair it in. Here is a comparison of the differences between the Kitty Hawk and JFK kit hulls. They just use a different plug for the mold on the front of the bow, the JFK hull is even stamped Kitty Hawk inside. You can see a bit of the mold line on the Kitty Hawk bow, right where the bow anchor recess is on JFK.

Yep. I never realized how blunt the Kennedy's bow really is below the waterline. Reminds me of a tanker.
