I have been bitten pretty hard by the nautical bug of late and esp. is my interest in the IJN ships.I just finished the Hase 1/350 yukikaze and it came out ok the wash was to strong but the rigging was pretty good.I have the Chikuma and the Mogami waiting in the wings figuring I would progress by size. The hull fits together rather well with many internal supports I like that alot and the decks required that many holes be pre-drilled.Some pics....

I received my PE railing from Eduard earlier in the week and started the install on the bridge. The PE is listed as for the Agano class of cruisers but have seen instances in two locations were the pictures and what railing(28,29) was being called for did not match. The problem may of been were the one who drew the instruction's was not part of the design team  Kevin

I think I mentioned earlier I am kinda bent on the IJN ATTM I built the Yukikaze last month. My supposed wash was to strong going opposite on the Yahagi with enamel gloss clear then a homemade wash of acrylics.

I am not to far from finishing the Bridge/SS just a little more PE and finish the structure up to the range finder.I added PE ladders to the rear of the bridge from Infini and will add a couple of open doors tomorrow.I have built planes for the last 40 years and getting use to the PE is a learning curve even though I have done a couple of other ships. Some Pics ...

Thanks Dan and Martin I am enjoying the ships a lot! So,today I made it to the range finder on the Bridge and it is basically done except for the clear enamel and then a highlight with an acrylic wash.I have already remedied the main turrets barrel position was not all glued like #1 which sucks because I have to take it apart if I cannot paint the bags well enough.Pics...... Kevin

I would say that I starting to approach the 50% mark on this one nothing on the deck is glued yet except small pieces.I opted to go for the plastic hanger since I folded the brass hanger deck one time opened it back went to go glue it shut and it broke!after one fold?I tried to align the folded pieces but it was off after the glue dried.I said nope and to boot the anti-skid pattern on the brass looked out of scale of what of been a persons foot the plastic is much more subtle.I am going to incorporate some other pieces hopefully if all goes well from the brass hanger kit. She's looking the part............;) Kevin

Nice work on this one :thumbs_up_1: Congrats on your son making SSgt. Misawa is a fun place. I was there back in the 80's and loved it. I was also down at Keesler in the 80's. Looking forward to the rest of this build!

Thks Mike I am really enjoying the nautical theme. My son told them about 2yrs in I guess that he liked Japan so much keep me over here I am hoping he re-enlist.

So my efforts over the last couple of days I got some railing up on the a/c platform and the PE catapult built which I have seen were my cart is improperly located. The white marks on the deck are were I filled the holes with sprue doing away with the kit ladders.I have ladder on the inside underneath the a/c platform do not know if the one to the back will show up in the resized pics.
