well...decided to modify...and what happend...the piece jumped against the stearing......stearing wheel jumped away...and nowhere to find....pfff...I don wanna count the hours searching for pieces that jump away or simply fall
modelling isn't always strait to end....a lot of accidents happen
so had to make a new one...in a sort of a way not a bad thing....I wasn't realy happy with PE one as they are anyway ...too small
so here is new one...compare with PE
and ...bridge as should be....oh yeah....the ship warf decided to offer the captain a chair without telling admiralty or US governement lol
Hope you all like my bridge...as this is how she will remain...but no longer so easy to see with roof on

I can see the Carpet Monster attacks again... And I am glad you lost the PE piece. What you have built now is way better.

Roof or no roof, this is what it has to be like. I wish I had had these pics of the interior of the bridge that you have uploaded. I would have done a much better job than I did.

BTW, notice that the lines of the outer windows are at an angle, what means that in the Flushdeckers there was virtually no room left between the compass and the steering wheel to go through. Your bridge looks now a bit more like the real thing.

And BTW, if you have not read The Caine mutiny, by Hermann Wouk, this is the right moment to do it. Absolutely absorbing reading in the enclosures of a Flushdecker.

A couple of pics to warm up :

What a blast from the past. Notice the difference in menus between the wardroom and the sailor´s mess, the crowded of the tables and the width of the bunks.
As you can see in the US Navy there used to be no liberté at all, not a trace of egalité and fraternité was left for X-mas dinners at home.

Willie.

when looking at my rear mast...I found the small horizontal bar too low compared with real pictures...couldn't let that ...so...re-did it...and reduced size also a little,
left is old
also decided not to make a stairs going up on center castle but rather vertical ladders

first of all...Happy new year..
after 10-12 days nothing done...was happy to do a little today
added some stuff at rear of bridge and started to put some lines on it...also finished the small search lights to put on the bridge.
made some anti-fire material...the cable representing the fire hose is a 0.315 mm copper wire

started making the main guns ammunition racks
continued fly bridge and placed bridge searchlights and put lifebuoy on the side
this is a very delicate time...as I start fixing things....I would like to fix what I have...but can't do that, for if I do...some things can't be placed ...no access anymore...
so dangerous as I wanna rush...but must restrain myself....anyway...I see the end nearing

as I find it hard to see the stack fixing lines on my previous pictures ...I took a new one to see them better... and as I have now also the connecting ones on first stack...there's more than previous pictures
also fixed the ammunition racks on center castle...note only 1 row( most have a double row of cannon bullits 6-8 high). as USS Somers, dd 301 only served in peace time she did not have a full war ammunition load, just enough to give a few rounds
received the new 4 inch guns from Distefan.... top is new ...bottom old....that looks way better for size...now need to clean them up
