Just the opposite, I would say you are working at light speed, compared with my own pace.

This oil canning subject was discussed here last year. Take a look at this and the following pages:

viewtopic.php?f=59&t=163082&start=160

I think that, strictly speaking, maybe your oil canning is somehow out of scale, but we should keep in mind that you are making a 1/350 hull with hull plating, and oil canning on top of it, and the scraping has its limits. If the overall effect is OK (and I think that yours is, and how good) the thing can be accepted for service. Your hull has won 300% in quality with this treatment, and the goal has been achieved.

Keep the good work and the updates, and best regards from the North Atlantic,

Willie.

With Willie on that one. I do think it's too deep in real terms, but with some good painting it'll look spot on. The references you used are of course some extreme examples as well...

All in all great execution of this method and it certainly adds to the realism of the whole model. :thumbs_up_1:

That's pretty cool, man, that alone would drive me up the wall!

And to think, Trumpeter only gives you one (under-length, IMHO) spool of really thicc copper wire for the degaussing cable(s) on their 1/200 Yorktown-class CVs...and there's no hull plating at all...
