Hi Everyone
I assemble my first ship - Yukikaze from Operation "Ten-Go"

I wonder if the ship, after the last modernization, had armor plates instead of railings on the platforms of anti-aircraft guns? There are few photos of this ship from that period and I can't see it exactly. I have a set of Hasegawa and Eduard photo-etched parts (Eduard to the 1940 version).
Eduard swaps on a double platform for railings, but Hasegawa does not.

It's a good question. I believe the answer is, it depends.

Postwar photos of late war built DDs such as the Matsu/Tachibanas, the later Akizukis, and the later Yugumos, show metal splinter shielding.

However, the photos of the few survivors & wrecks of the earlier classes, like Ushio & Hibiki (Fubuki), Hatsushimo (Hatsuharu) and Yukikaze (Kagero), show railings around these positions.

Thanks. I decided to use box set platforms for anti-aircraft guns.

A little painting
